Re Modified Polymer Aggregate, for C330, C331 and C332

Balkrete
Material Data Sheet

Derived from waste plastic and waste silica recycled sources, up to 100%, we take the other waste plastic and silica, which currently ends up in landfill or combustion.

A lighter, stronger aggregate delivering lower weight, higher strength with greater R value then other light aggregates , including scoria, expanded shale and Haydite, these require kiln registered temperatures to allow the porosity to emerge, while  being known as carbon intensive processes.

Balkrete is a sequestration process for waste plastics and the American Carbon Registry has a proposal to value its carbon reduction.

A.S.T.M Spec’s- Must be tested as part of finished component, block, panel or pour.

Balkrete is produced to comply w/ physical and chemical requirements of acceptable A.S.T.M Standards, except that the “B” Course or smaller is supplied against gradation requirements.

C-330 Light weight for structural concrete
C-331 Light weight aggregate for concrete masonry units
C-332 Light weight aggregate for insulating concrete (Group II)
“A” cast- in-place may be used with Gunite and Shotcrete applications
“AX” Medium fine gradations
“BX” Fine and medium course  – for block and roof fill applications
“B” Size medium course  –  cast- in-place, precast and block
“C” course gradations -  cast in place, precast and or block

To be confirmed

Weight/ SDensity- Balkrete specific gravity Est  1.29-1.34 ... so Unit density would be 80-83 pcf, Bulk density as we know is 40-42 pcf.

  • Compression up 5500 psi, this is recipe sensitive.
  • R-Value- up to 300% greater R-Value then quarried rock.
  • By Weight 62% of light weight expanded shale/Haydite .
  • Face hardness :need to run a batch with a hardness goal.
  • 100% recycled waste plastic and silica,(glass)

Sold in super sack or in bulk. Base size is 3/8” pee gravel, larger and smaller available, as part of the sort
